What to Do if Your Car Overheats
So, your car overheats in the summers and you don’t know what to do about it?
For starters, don’t panic. This is not an uncommon issue.
First things first: check the temperature on the temperature gauge and if it’s towards the higher side turn the air conditioner off, park your car and shut off your engine.
Open the radiator cap using a thick cloth or towel. It’s important that you avoid touching it directly or you might end up burning your hand!
Next, top up the radiator with half coolant and half water. If you don’t have coolant, water should do the trick, temporarily.
Wait a while and give your car some time to cool down before restarting the engine. It’s advisable you wait for 15-20 minutes and then, fire up the engine. Have a look at the temperature gauge before firing up the engine or you could drive back home and enlist your car for sale on OLX!
