OLX Dubsmash Your Bakra
The Dubsmash Your Bakra campaign was a fun, relevant and funny way for OLX to “play”, communicate and interact with its customer-base, in Pakistan. Dubsmash videos are all the rage nowadays. You’ll find people belonging to all backgrounds and demographics, getting involved in making and upload hilarious videos on their social media profiles.
It is evident that the online classifieds marketplace wished to entertain and, at the same time, encourage its users to participate in listings. While many did get involved in the latter, it seems twice as many people were participating in the contest!
The campaign, it seems, had more than one purpose:
- To communicate with its fans and buyers while at the same time getting more, of both, on-board
- To entertain its user and fans while making them more confident to communicate on the company’s social media profiles and
- To promote listings.
The company was able to meet all 3 goals because many were aware and speaking very fondly of the multinational corporate’s initiatives and tendency to take its customers’ views into account. This, as is evident, made them feel loyal towards OLX and thus they were more than happy to list their products and “share” or “like” posts on the company’s social media profiles.
