OLX Eidi Contest
In 2014, OLX launched a contest that was very popular amongst its Pakistani fan base and one that was welcomed by many, with open arms. The name of the successful campaign was “Eidi Contest”.
Eidi is a word that refers to monetary gift provided to others by their loved ones, friends and family members.Thus the renowned online classifieds marketplace intelligently gave its fan base incentive to get involved in the campaign by naming it the “Eidi” contest.
Participants were required to list Ramadan-related products (such as cutlery, clothes and other items of the sort) on OLX.com.pk. They were then, given the chance to win a giveaway by OLX.
This was popular amongst OLX’s user for two reasons: firstly, the company showed that it cared for its customers’ sentiments and secondly, it motivated them to put their products up for sale so they could get a little cash for items that might not be available in the market.
